Sarah Ceraso was born and raised in Naarm, Melbourne where she found her love for dance at Studio V. In her early years, she trained at the Australian Ballet School under the direction of Marilyn Rowe, where she had the opportunity to multiple performances at the State Theatre and Playhouse Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne. She was taught by highly regarded ballet artists like Sergey Konstantinov and Leigh Rowles.
Sarah was also involved with Transit Dance where she was a part of their Origins Elevate youth program under the direction of Lachlan Hall, during her time here she worked with artists including Kaitlin Malone, Kayla Douglas, Josie Weise, Samantha Hines and Paul Malek.
Currently, Sarah is studying at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, where she was awarded the Norma De Gruchy Excellence scholarship as well as being selected to attend a creative and cultural exchange in the Cook Islands on the New Colombo Plan Grant. She was also given the opportunity to second with Australasian Dance Collective where she was involved in their rehearsal and creative processes. As apart of RISING festival, Sarah assisted Phillip Adams as rehearsal director for ‘Fountain’. Sarah was also involved in Muse Festival where she performed in ‘(un)tamed’, choreographed by Rikia Bell and contributed to the first development of ‘SsYiNnCk’ performed by Flynn Dakis, Jesper Harrison and Toni Stathopoulos. Working with artists like Julie Ann Minaai, Kialea-Nadine Willams, Anna Smith, Kimball Wong, Jo Lloyd, Melanie Lane, Tyrell Dulvarie, Wirastuti Susilaningtyas (Tututtuty), Phillip Adams, Siobhan McKenna, Ben Hurley, Yuiko Masukawa she is set to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) in 2025.
